The First stage in digging a snow hole shelter (underground igloo): trench is dug and then the bottom is widened to form a cavern under the ice.  Later stage in digging the snow hole: sloping entry made, slabs of snow are placed over as roof.   A marine disappears into a snow hole.  Another angle as marines go into snow hole. At the end of the day, the ski party return from patrol to their tent in the snow.  The skis and sticks are stacked up, throwing shadows across the snow.
