'We built the first ever DIY van life squat rack gym! We will be able to do nearly all possible exercises on this DIY gym. It is permanently attached to the side of our box truck so we can bring it with us and work out wherever we are in the world. This is an extremely unique van life project that not very many people do. However, that’s the beauty of #vanlife. Each van lifer gets to build their van whatever way they want. You don’t have to follow a template or use someone else’s priorities. Building a self converted van allows you to decide on your priorities and then act to make them a reality.  Oliver’s non-negotiable for the van life build was to have a van life gym. He wanted our converted uhaul box truck to have some stylish steel bars on the side that act as a gym for wherever you go. We couldn’t find any other van lifers on YouTube or other social media platforms who have built a gym in a similar way to us. We are super excited with the final result that Oliver completely designed himself. He planned out how this entire gym would function, and it works just as imagined!! We are so happy with it.  This gym was a big example of what the DIY process looks like when converting a retired box truck. We start with a vision or a goal for something. Then we buy a few parts for our design and test it out to see if it will function. We then create a more built-out prototype and see how the whole thing works together in unison. We iterate on the design by prototyping and testing over and over again. We generally use the Design Thinking framework (shout out to Stanford D-School)!!
