'This college soccer goalkeeper is rehabbing right-sided hamstring strain and left-sided patellar tendonitis. This phase 3 exercise involves the Nordic hamstring and an overhead throw into the rebounder. The Nordic hamstring is one of the best hamstring exercises because of the focus on eccentric loading, which is often an area that isn’t addressed in strength and conditioning programs to enhance performance and prevent injury. To challenge his eye hand coordination, he’s wearing strobe eyewear to obstruct his vision. Using strobe eyewear for vision training improves his hand eye coordination and dynamic joint stability by training the sensorimotor system. Incorporating strobe eyewear for vision training helps his proprioception. It allows him to process and react quicker to visual information, such as shots on goal. As always — train both legs! Effective and efficient rehab is criterion-based, not time-based.
