'How To Rehab After Knee Meniscus Surgery A professional soccer player has progressed to phase 2 in her rehab journey from a right knee meniscectomy. She\'s improved her leg strength and knee stability, and her pain levels have decreased with daily activities. More challenging exercises are needed to prevent her from plateauing with her rehab. At the end of a treatment session, using blood flow restriction (BFR) bands which have left her legs feeling fatigued, it\'s time to perform dynamic knee stabilization exercises. She\'s performing step-ups on an unstable platform that shifts in the sagittal plane, side-to-side, and vertically from the springs. She is training when her legs are tired because it is relevant to her sport (soccer/football), with a grueling 90 minutes of play. Her performing exercises when tired is critical for her success. To minimize potential problems in later phases of rehab, train stabilization exercises when fatigued — remember to start with the end in mind — return to play! As always — train both legs! Effective and efficient rehab is criterion-based, not time-based.
