'Welcome to my new series on the subject Fitness Gaming! Although my equipment and resources are limited for recording, tune in as I attempt to cover various forms of games and gaming accessories in this genre, including occasional demonstration videos and my opinions/experiences with them. About this series: After athletics ended for my Senior year of high school, without the physical activity I quickly gained weight/fat and started to push past 200 pounds at 5\'4\" (not a good thing). This was back in 2004, and during a New Year\'s event for the start of \'05 I came across a Dance Dance Revolution arcade and thought that it looked like a fun and interesting idea. Soon after New Year\'s, I invested in my first DDR copy with dance mat controller during the ps2/xbox era and stumbled across the controller with a couple of friends for approximately 3 hours the first time I booted it up. Starting at beginner and over the months working my way up to Expert across the songs on Ultramix 2 , I gradually lost 30-35 lbs without any form of dietary change and gained more energy than even during my high school years. These changes were largely due to the incredible cardio workouts dancing in general provides, which is mimicked at least in intensity across the higher difficulties of the dance controller. Through later routines and diet changes, I was about to eventually claim a net loss of 65 lbs over 2 years and stayed in the 131-136 range for about 8 years. WHERE I AM AT NOW: As a result of getting older and changes in life responsibilities taking up more of my time, I had put on roughly 35 of those lbs back but am in the process of working some of it back off as I work on this series. By reverting back to similar healthier eating habits that I used back then and using the Wii Fit routines in my next couple of videos, since the first of the year I have already shed off 14 of those lbs again.'
