'Fitness & Exercise The single most important thing you can do for your health is to exercise regularly, preferably every day. Exercise can help you control your eating, enhance your mood, and sleep better in the short term. It lowers the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia, depression, and many cancers in the long run. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), you should do the following:  Adults of all ages are welcome. Every week, do at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise, such as running (or a combination of both). Breaking up exercise into smaller sessions is fine as long as each one lasts at least 10 minutes. At least two days a week, conduct strength exercise that targets all main muscle groups: legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders, and arms. Lifting weights, utilizing resistance bands, or movements like push-ups and sit-ups that use your own body weight as resistance are all examples of strength training.  For expectant mothers For the most part, aerobic activity recommendations are deemed safe for pregnant women. Strength training is not recommended by the CDC. It\'s a good idea to talk to your doctor about your fitness routine.  Children\'s books At least 60 minutes of physical activity per day, with the majority of that time devoted to aerobic activity.
